AND THE WALLS COME TUMBLIN’ DOWN

AND THE WALLS COME TUMBLIN’ DOWN
Iconic Press Tower Demolished While Shovels are in the Ground at New Location

Watkins Glen, NY (December 19, 2007) – Another chapter in the storied history of Watkins Glen International came to a close when Craig Rust, President of WGI, began the demolition of the historic road course’s iconic Press Tower during a ceremony this afternoon. Members of the WGI staff and local media also took turns leaving their final “mark” on the building - with the use of a sledge hammer. The demolition of the Press Tower is segueing for a new state-of-the-art Media Center, which is expected to be completed in June of 2008.

The Press Tower has been one of the most recognizable landmarks at The Soul of American Road Racing since its construction in 1971. With the loss of the Glen Club in early 2007, the Press Tower became the second oldest structure at The Glen behind the Main Operations Building. The 4,000-square foot building was part of a modernization project requested by Formula 1 that included widening the road surface of the entire track, relocating the start-finish line and building new pits and garage. The original structure also housed timing and scoring for The Glen until 2006 when Race Control was added to the top of the FrontStretch Grandstand. Over the course of its over 35 year history, the Press Tower hosted national and international media and officials from virtually every major racing series including NASCAR, IndyCar, Grand-Am, Formula 1, CART, Trans-Am, Can-Am, IMSA and SCCA.

The new Media Center will not be placed in the same location as the former Press Tower. Groundbreaking began on Monday, and the crew is in the process of pouring the concrete footers on the foundation of the new building. The building will be located approximately 100-150 feet east of the old press tower, in an area previously used for high-end team recreational vehicles (RV’s), known as the Newel RV lot. Artist renderings of the new building are being finalized and are expected to be released in mid-January. Updates on the progress of the new media center will be posted periodically to www.TheGlen.com/media.

Help celebrate the 60th Anniversary of racing in The Glen by purchasing your tickets for the 2008 season now! Tickets can be purchased at The Shop, located at 2 North Franklin Street in downtown Watkins Glen. Gift Certificates worth cash value toward any ticket at Watkins Glen International can be purchased at the Information Center of Corning located in Centerway Square on Historic market Street.

The season kicks-off with the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, June 6-7 paired with the Camping World Series’ East Division on Sunday, June 8. Open-wheel racing returns for the 4th of July holiday during the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen, July 4-6, and the Centurion Boats at The Glen NASCAR Sprint Cup and Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series weekend highlights the summer action, August 9-12. For more information, please contact the Watkins Glen International ticket office at 866-461-RACE or log on to the official website www.TheGlen.com.

Testimonials from national media and staff:

§ “While preserving the heritage of motorsports is important – keeping this historic building is not one of those cases… On a more serious note, as we have stated in the past, we are very happy to be able to construct a new facility and believe it will be well received and appreciated by the media that have been coming here over the years.” Craig Rust, President of Watkins Glen International

§ “I remember the press tower when I covered my first race at The Glen — the 1974 Formula 5000 weekend — and was very impressed by the circuit’s media facilities. By the time the track reopened in 1984, the building had seen better days. We made a number of improvements over the years to keep up with the requirements of the media. I’ve got many great memories of the press tower, but it’s great that WGI will be replacing it with a bigger and better structure.” - J.J. O’Malley, former WGI public relations (1984 – 1998) and current Senior Editor of RacingOne Multimedia (formerly ISC Publications)

§ “It always reminded me of some naval vessel. Going up those stairs, I found myself imagining the sound of an air-raid siren. Sitting upstairs, sweating, I often felt the urge to say, ‘Aye, aye, captain.’” - Monte Dutton, Gaston Gazette

§ “It’s the end of one of the great French fry racks ever built. Somewhere, an Eagle Scout will lament the demise of his project.” - David Poole, Charlotte Observer

§ “I will give Watkins Glen International credit. No where else on the NASCAR circuit could be found the "Presidential" restroom facilities. And if you didn't know, the words were right there on the door to remind you. Also, the Glen's staff is one of the most resourceful. Even up until August 2007, leftover fans from Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse -- brought in five years ago by a public relations representative when the air conditioning failed -- could still be found in use!” - Jim Utter, Charlotte Observer & www.thatsracin.com

§ “When I first heard the building would be demolished it was just a feeling of pure, unbridled joy. My sweat glands thank WGI.” - Steve Vesey, Sport Director, WETM-TV (Elmira, NY - NBC Affiliate)

§ “The tower was always cramped, hot, or cold as the case may be, but it was always home on race weekends. On big race weekends it was fun to observe the media horde hovering as lunch time approached. It was like watching drivers jockeying for position on a restart. As the old tower goes down, I remember it fondly for providing shelter from the elements and a place to meet and spend time with friends.” – Terry Day, WETM-TV (1984-1999)

§ "Drivers, press and support staff won't suffer hypothermia during October press conferences or lose 20 pounds in August by merely standing still anymore, but there will be an element of sadness when the old press tower comes crashing down. Aside from serving as a landmark at the race track, some of the best drivers in the last 30 years gathered there and, personally, I met and talked to some of the best people in the industry inside that shack." Chris Gill, Corning Leader

§ "For many racing fans in the Northeast, and in Europe, the press tower at Watkins Glen International was a building that was a landscape icon, much like the old concrete blocked pit stalls and the blue guardrails. From Formula One to sports cars, Indycar to NASCAR and others in between...you could look at photos and film of racing history and know you were seeing something from The Glen. It won't be the same without that building in the center of the action." Chris P. Bacon, 100.9 WPGI-FM (local MRN affiliate)

§ “The character of any old building is something to be treasured however I’m confident that the one thing that will not be missed is the constant threat of snow pouring through the slight gaps in the windows during a nor’easter – the mark of a building’s true character for sure.” Scott Rovn, Sr. Director of Sales and Marketing Phoenix International Raceway (PR at WGI 1999-2000)

CELEBRITY CRUISES TURNS UP THE HEAT WITH INDUSTRY’S FIRST-EVER GLASSBLOWING FEATURE

CELEBRITY CRUISES TURNS UP THE HEAT WITH INDUSTRY’S FIRST-EVER GLASSBLOWING FEATURE

Collaboration with Corning Museum of Glass Will Bring Unique Entertainment and Enrichment to Guests on Celebrity Solstice

MIAMI – November 30, 2007 – Talk about a “hot spot”: Celebrity Cruises’ new Celebrity Solstice will introduce an industry first.

Celebrity will collaborate with the world-renowned Corning Museum of Glass to bring the captivating art of glassblowing to sea when the Museum’s “Hot Glass Showsm” debuts on Celebrity Solstice in December 2008.

Through Celebrity’s alliance with The Corning Museum of Glass, the premier authority on glass and glassmaking history, the Hot Glass Show will provide live demonstrations and a narrated performance of glassblowing, designed to engage, educate and inspire cruisers about the art, history and science of glass.

“We’re confident our guests will be awestruck by what we’re offering with The Corning Museum of Glass,” said Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Dan Hanrahan. “The museum’s surveys repeatedly show that live glassmaking demonstrations rank as one of the top reasons more than 340,000 people visit the museum each year. Now, it’s also a compelling reason to sail on Celebrity Solstice.”

“At The Corning Museum of Glass, our mission is to engage and inspire visitors by telling the story of glassmaking," said Marie McKee, president of The Corning Museum of Glass. “This collaboration with Celebrity Cruises allows our Museum to dramatically expand our outreach across the world.”

Located on the ship’s upper deck within a custom-designed, outdoor glassmaking studio, the Hot Glass Show will present the history and craft of glassblowing, from its ancient origins to its current countless uses. Three resident “gaffers” – highly skilled glassblowing artists – will educate and entertain cruisers with live glassmaking shows, lectures and workshops.

Live hot glassmaking demonstrations are central to the experience at The Corning Museum of Glass, complementing the history and the artistry of glass showcased in the Museum’s exhibitions and permanent collections. Since 2001, the Museum has traveled the Hot Glass Show to museums, art fairs and public festivals around the world, extending this experience beyond the walls of the Museum. The Museum’s traveling Hot Glass Roadshow has been seen at such venues as the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics and America’s 400th Anniversary Celebration at Jamestown.

Chateau Frank is the sister winery to Dr. Konstantin Frank’s Vinifera Wine Cellars and was started by Dr. Frank’s son, Willy. While Dr. Konstantin Frank pioneered growing the noble European grape varieties in New York, Willy Frank spearheaded New York’s sparkling wine revolution using traditional methods and classic grapes. Chateau Frank’s award winning sparkling wines have been served at the White House, New York’s Governor’s Mansion and presented on the Regis and Kelly show.

Chateau Frank led the way bringing home more Gold Medals than any other New York State Winery! Chateau Frank 2000 Blanc de Noirs was awarded a Gold Medal at the American Wine Society Competition. This Finger Lakes Champagne also won “Best of Category for Sparkling Wine”
at the New York State Fair along with five other Gold Medals at other competitions. With aromas of pear, apple, vanilla and hazelnut that combine with the toasty yeast character, persistent foam and tiny bubbles, this style of sparkling wine makes for a perfect accompaniment to a holiday celebration.

Chateau Frank 2000 Blanc de Blancs received a Gold Medal at the American Wine Society Competition along with four other Gold Medals at other competitions. It was also named #1 in the category of "Most Exciting or Unusual Finds" in Wine Report 2008: "The best sparkling wine I tasted from the Northeast – a fitting tribute to the late Willy Frank." November's Draft Magazine highlighted the Blanc de Blancs; "One of the classic sparkling wines to emerge from the Finger Lakes, this golden-color wine is dry with hints of pear and a touch of pineapple." Just in time for holiday entertaining, this medium- bodied champagne has a crisp acidity accompanied by complex aromas of yeast, citrus, lemon, ginger, floral and hazelnut.

The Cremant style Celebre Rose won a Gold Medal at the American Wine Society Commercial Wine Competition. Not to be outdone, Chateau Frank Celebre took home a prestigious Double Gold Medal at the American Wine Society Commercial Wine Competition. The Celebre is a delicious, fruity, easy to drink sparkling wine. It's the perfect holiday refreshment with apple, honey and spicy aromas accompanied by a solid acidic backbone giving this wine great balance and fruit.

Located on Keuka Lake a few miles north of Hammondsport, Dr. Frank’s has long been associated with the New York wine revolution. Its founder, Dr. Konstantin Frank, was the first to cultivate the European vitis vinifera grapevines in the eastern United States, the varieties used in virtually all of the world’s finest wines. THE GLEN NAMED BEST RACE OF 2007 BY SPORTS ILLUSTRATED

The Centurion Boats at The Glen Featured Plenty of On-Track Action and Drama

Watkins Glen, NY (November 27, 2007) – This year’s Centurion Boats at The Glen was considered, by many, as a race for the ages and now Sports Illustrated (SI) has confirmed what most Glen fans already knew. The famed and respected sports publication has selected the Centurion Boats at The Glen as the best NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race of 2007. In 2008, fans should expect the excitement to continue when the action of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to The Glen on its traditional weekend, August 7-10.

Sports Illustrated announced its year-end awards for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series season in its weekly publication and on its website last week. The selection of the Centurion Boats at The Glen was certainly no surprise to any race fan that watched the excitement and drama unfold at The Glen on August 12, 2007. SI identified the on track confrontation between Kevin Harvick and Juan Pablo Montoya, the late spinout by race leader Jeff Gordon and “more fender rubbin’ than any other event of the season” as the reasons for their selection. The sports giant could have also noted one of the other exciting storylines from the weekend such as the sudden decision by Bill Elliott to give his ride to fan favorite Boris Said, several drivers including Ryan Newman and David Ragan powering their way through the Turn 10 gravel trap, Carl Edwards’ desperate charge to catch eventual race winner Tony Stewart on the final lap or the constant daredevil passes through the Inner Loop.

Tickets for the entire 2008 season go on sale December 1. To order tickets please contact the Watkins Glen International ticket office at 866-461-RACE or log on to the official website at www.TheGlen.com.

Dr. Frank's is Greatest Wine Producer Four Years in a Row!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Dr. Frank's is Greatest Wine Producer Four Years in a Row!

Hammondsport, New York - November 6, 2007 - Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars has won the title of "Greatest Wine Producer"
in the Atlantic Northeast region by Wine Report 2008, again! This is the fourth consecutive year that the winery has earned this prestigious title. In addition, Chateau Frank 1999 Blanc de Blancs has been named #1 in the category of "Most Exciting or Unusual Finds". The Blanc de Blancs is "the best sparkling wine I tasted from the Northeast - a fitting tribute to the late Willy Frank." Dr.
Frank's 2005 Riesling Reserve was also named #1 in the "Greatest Quality Wines" category.

Dr. Frank's Rieslings scored big in September's Wine Enthusiast magazine, just in time for the holidays. The Dry Riesling scored 89 points, "Crisp acidity and mineralty make this wine a great food cohort and attractive to anyone who favors a drier, more delicate style of Riesling. Apple, pear and spice come together in layers, and while refreshing, the wine also contains a lovely creaminess on the palate." The Semi Dry Riesling was awarded 88 points, "Ripe fruit balanced with a zingy backbone make this Semi Dry Riesling from Dr.
Frank an overall winner for varied palates. Melon, pear and a hint of exotic floral flavors and aromas set this wine aside from standard whites of this type, and its structure - balanced and substantial without being heavy - further recommend it. Chilled and in an elegant glass, this is a fun and affordable wine with character."

Better Homes and Gardens' October magazine featured the Finger Lakes as a travel destination for a long weekend. Dr. Frank's Winery is one of the favorite spots to visit and the top region in the U.S. for Riesling. "Dr. Frank's, one of the region's best-known wineries, is part of the Keuka Lake Wine Trail, a group of several local winemakers who host events throughout the year."

The popular website, www.epicurious.com featured Dr. Frank's Rkatsiteli this fall in the article "What to Drink in September."
Howard Goldberg writes a glowing review, "Dr. Konstantin Frank's Vinifera Wine Cellars, towering Rhine-like over Keuka Lake in upstate New York, specializes in Rkatsiteli, a dry white made from a winter- hardy vinifera grape widely planted in Russia. The 2006 version - deeply aromatic, awash in lemon-lime flavor, a pungent appetite- awakener - flies off merchants' shelves."

Located on Keuka Lake a few miles north of Hammondsport, Dr. Frank's has long been associated with the New York wine revolution. Its founder, Dr. Konstantin Frank, was the first to cultivate the European vitis vinifera grapevines in the eastern United States, the varieties used in virtually all of the world's finest wines. The Festival, entering its twelfth season at the historic racetrack, is scheduled for the weekend of July 18–20.
Once a year, Watkins Glen International, considered The Soul of American Road Racing, is transformed into the Finger Lake’s largest tasting room, where over 600 New York wines will be sampled. 80 wineries are slated to attend, with an array of quality artisans, hand-crafted jewelry, local farm products, gourmet foods, culinary items, and retail wine merchandise that compliment the Festival’s theme featured at the weekend long event.
The celebration kicks-off Friday evening, July 18th, with fireworks, wine, and togas during “Yancey’s Fancy Cheese Launch of the Lakes”. Saturday and Sunday the Festival will open at 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, featuring a variety of wine and food from across the state, culinary classes, cooking demos, wine seminars, live entertainment and much more. Camping on Festival grounds, shuttle service to area hotels, and plenty of free parking will also available.

WATKINS GLEN TO CELEBRATE 60 YEARS OF ROAD RACING IN 2008

NASCAR Busch East Added to Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen Weekend in June
Celebrate the Fourth of July with the IndyCar Series
NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series Return in August

Watkins Glen, NY (November 7, 2007) – Road racing at Watkins Glen has been a tradition in upstate N.Y. ever since, October 2, 1948, “The Day They Stopped the Trains” for the first post-World War II road race in the United States. Each year the Grand Prix Festival, held in conjunction with the U.S. Vintage Grand Prix, pays tribute to the first road race by hosting a race reenactment in the village. This has become a tradition that is enjoyed by motorsports enthusiasts from around the country. In 2008, Watkins Glen International will be honoring their diamond anniversary and 60 years of road-racing. The celebration is expected to begin on Opening Day at the track, April 27, and will last until the season’s finale during the country’s largest vintage racing event the U.S. Vintage Grand Prix, September 5-7.
“We are extremely proud of our motorsports heritage and the opportunity to celebrate 60 years is an outstanding accomplishment,” stated Craig Rust, President of Watkins Glen International. “The Glen has had the privilege of hosting virtually every major racing series in the world covering all forms of motorsports throughout our storied history, and we will strive to continue our leadership role in American road racing.”
Watkins Glen International is set to host eight event weekends in 2008 beginning with Opening Day on April 27, marking the advance sale deadline for all race weekend tickets. Fans can once again take on the twists and turns of the famed road course in their own vehicles, or take a ride in a pace car. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp, a NASCAR Foundation supported charity.
The first racing action will take place June 6-8 during the 27th running of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series weekend. The long-standing sports car race will run on Saturday, June 7 and be joined, this year, by the NASCAR Busch East Series on Sunday, June 8. The NASCAR Busch East Series, previously called the NASCAR Grand National Division Busch North Series, ran at Watkins Glen International from 1993 - 2004. Brad Leighton of Center Harbor New Hampshire, is the most recent defending champion, winning the 2004 Mohegan Sun 150. The pole was won that year by three-time Glen winner, Andy Santerre.
“Every year we evaluate our schedule and try to add or grow events for our fans,” stated Rust. “We know that the Busch East Series has dedicated fans in the North East, so we think that the addition of this race, is the right fit for our track during an already exciting weekend.”
The next big event of the 2008 season takes place on the Fourth of July weekend, when the IndyCar Series comes back to The Soul of American Road Racing during the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen. The track will celebrate the nation’s independence all weekend starting with the Friday Night Block Party on the 4th, including bands on the Red Cat Summer Stage, a huge fireworks display, carnival food, kids rides, games and more. The Indy Pro Series, Penn Grade 1 Historic Grand Prix and Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series will also take on the historic 3.4-mile long course – marking five races in one weekend.
In 2008, the Centurion Boats at The Glen is back on its traditional August race weekend. The NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will turn left and right at The Glen, August 7-10. Fans can see the stars of the Centurion Boats at The Glen NASCAR Sprint Cup Series challenge the famed 2.45-mile track on Sunday, August 10 and the NASCAR Nationwide Series Zippo 200 on Saturday, August 9. The weekend action kicks-off as the Daytona Prototypes of the Grand-Am Rolex Series make their second appearance at The Glen on Friday, August 8 for the Crown Royal 200.
The Historic Sportscar Racing weekend will also return to The Glen in 2008, June 13-15. The event will once again be open to the public and will feature some of racing’s most historic sports cars.
The SCCA Glen Nationals, the longest-running event at The Glen, returns July 12-13, followed immediately by the East Coast’s largest showcase of New York state wines, the Finger Lakes Wine Festival, July 18-20. The event features over 80 wineries from around the region, pouring over 600 different wines combined with some of the area’s best arts & crafts, food, music, culinary classes and cooking demonstrations.
The 2008 season will close with the traditional season finale – the U.S. Vintage Grand Prix, September 7-9. This event will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of road racing in The Glen and includes the Grand Prix Festival race reenactment on the village streets of Watkins Glen on Friday evening. The weekend continues to be the largest vintage racing event in the country featuring historic cars of the past from as far back as the 1930’s. The weekend’s featured marques will be Triumph, Formula 5000 and the 50th Anniversary of Lola. The honored guest will be announced at a later date.
Tickets for the entire 2008 season will go on sale December 1. For tickets and information, please contact the Watkins Glen ticket office at 866-461-RACE or log on to the official Watkins Glen website at www.TheGlen.com.

Dr. Frank's is Greatest Wine Producer Four Years in a Row!

Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars has won the title of "Greatest Wine Producer" in the Atlantic Northeast region by Wine Report 2008, again! This is the fourth consecutive year that the winery has earned this prestigious title. In addition, Chateau Frank 1999 Blanc de Blancs has been named #1 in the category of "Most Exciting or Unusual Finds". The Blanc de Blancs is "the best sparkling wine I tasted from the Northeast a fitting tribute to the late Willy Frank." Dr.

Frank's Rkatsiteli this fall in the article "What to Drink in September." Howard Goldberg writes a glowing review, "Dr. Konstantin Frank's Vinifera Wine Cellars, towering Rhine-like over Keuka Lake in upstate New York, specializes in Rkatsiteli, a dry white made from a winter-hardy vinifera grape widely planted in Russia. The 2006 version - deeply aromatic, awash in lemon-lime flavor, a pungent appetite-awakener - flies off merchants shelves."
