Build a Drum Workshop

Coopers Plains, NY — Watson Homestead Conference and Retreat Center. located in Coopers Plains. NY, will hold a drum building workshop on from October 3 - 5. 2008. ‘Stan the Man” (Stan Secrest of Flarrisville. New York) will guide the drum building workshop It takes approximately 16 hours to complete a drum from start to finish. Stan will bring all of the supplies to create a personalized drum. Secrest holds drum workshops across the United States. Participants need to order and pay for their drum in advance. Drum choices range from Native Hand Drums and Ceremonial Drums to several African Drums including Djembes and Ashikos. This workshop requires no previous woodworking experience.
