Painted Post – Erwin Museum at the Depot for the summer season

The Corning-Painted Post Historical Society announces the opening of the Painted Post – Erwin Museum at the Depot for the summer season. The Depot museum is located in Painted Post on Steuben St. just off of West High St. The hours are Monday through Friday 10am-4pm, Saturday 10am-2pm, and will be open June through August. At the Depot museum you can explore American history from mammoths to modern industries like Dresser- Rand. Look for our new exhibit that just opened on the IBM corporation and Thomas Watson’s connections to Painted Post. Admission is FREE!

The Benjamin Patterson Inn will be open Monday through Friday 10-4, and June through August it will be open on Saturdays 10-2. The Patterson Inn museum is located on West Pulteney St. in Corning. During your tour you visit a 1796 tavern, 1850 log house, 1878 schoolhouse, and a 19th century barn with agricultural exhibit. While you are here make sure to see “Lace, the Spaces between” our newest exhibit on the Italian community in Corning and the lace that was created. Mark your calendar for August 2 if you would like to see a hearth cooking demonstration on your tour!
