LPGA Corning Classic 30th Anniversary Celebration

LPGA Corning Classic 30th Anniversary Celebration
Monday, May 19th in Centerway Square

CORNING,NY - - To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the LPGA Corning Classic, Corning’s Gaffer District will host a day long commemorative event in Centerway Square Monday, May 19th.

The event will begin at 10am with an invitation to the public to join us in the Information Center of Corning, 1 W. Market Street. A huge congratulations card will be on display for signing. Everyone who signs the card will receive a one-day pass to the 2008 Corning Classic LPGA and children under 12 years of age will receive a free gift.

At 4pm the celebration moves to Centerway Square on Historic Market Street where everyone can share a piece of the 30th anniversary cake by grabbing a free cupcake, provided by Wegmans Food Markets and Corning’s Gaffer District. Live musical entertainment will be provided by the amazing all female jazz ensemble “The Nines” from 4pm to 7pm on Centerway Stage. LPGA pros will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for pictures.

As the LPGA Corning Classic celebrates “30 years of Golf and Giving” we are reminded of the true winners of this community event. The LPGA Corning Classic benefits women’s health care programs at 11 area hospitals, the disabled children at Camp Star and Lions Club sight preservation programs. Net charitable proceeds since 1979 have totaled more than $5.1 million.

Please come help us celebrate the anniversary of this wonderful community program.
